Temporary Blade Mounting

In this phase of skate servicing, we will install blades onto boots into a temporary mount position with 4 temp mount screws plus one extra toe placed permanent screw. This process will need to be final mounted later after confirmation blades are in correct placement for the skater's personal alignment. We will sent extra screws in your package for you to final mount or take with you to your tech.

WHY IS CORRECT BLADE MOUNTING IMPORTANT?

Because alignment is crucial, mounting must be done accurately. Fractions of millimeters make huge differences. The smallest misalignment increases fatigue and reduces performance as you need to constantly over-correct. This could even lead to injuries. 

Mounting the blade is as much a science as it is an art, and requires a knowledgeable technician who has a good eye, a good ear, and professional equipment. We have the technical understanding of the skating boots and blades to permanently mount blades to boots. 

The final check is carried out during the sharpening phase when the technician may use this time to check the boot and blade alignment, mounting hardware security, and evenness of the blade edges. Do not forget to do this phase! Loose screws can lead to blade movement and lead to skater injury.
